Gujral Foundation at the Shanghai Biennale

Flint has been retained by the Gujral Foundation over the last two years, with a strategic communications mandate to support a portfolio of individual projects and position the Foundation as a champion of Indian and South Asian contemporary arts internationally.

The Gujral Foundation is committed to mentoring and nurturing Indian and South Asian artists, with a focus on developing opportunities to participate in world-class international platforms. Recent projects delivered by the Foundation include exhibitions and collaborations with leading institutions such as The Guggenheim, The British Museum, the Berlin Biennale, the Kochi Muziris Biennale, the 56th Venice Biennale, the 11th Shanghai Biennale and the Contour Biennale 8, Mechelen, Belgium (11 March – 21 May 2017).

A media relations initiative recently completed by Flint on behalf of the Gujral Foundation comprised targeted international media outreach around the Foundation’s support of the emerging Indian conceptual artist Vishal K Dar and his site-specific installation Storm Deities (Maruts) in the iconic chimney of the Power Station of Art at the 11th Shanghai Biennale (11 November 2016 – 12 March 2017). The campaign also provided a media platform for Feroze Gujral, director of the Foundation, from which to launch her vision for the future of the organisation.

Flint secured high-profile media exposure for the Foundation, with features in targeted publications including Vogue India, Ocula, SELECTIONS, Business Standard, Frieze, The Art Newspaper, Architectural Digest India, Artsy, India Today, Hyperallergic and broadcaster NDTV Prime. Coverage included corporate and personal profile features on The Gujral Foundation and director Feroze Gujral, artist interviews and exhibition reviews. The Foundation’s participation in the 2017 Kochi Muziris Biennale was also successfully leveraged to provide further media, influencer and public engagement opportunities.

“The Flint team put together a really solid, well strategised plan of press coverage for our project. Their constant support, guidance and advice was instrumental in making this a highly successful project, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services.”Feroze Gujral, Founder Director, The Gujral Foundation
