Alancha

Since launching in March 2015, Istanbul’s internationally acclaimed restaurant Alancha has been at the forefront of a contemporary Anatolian culinary revival.  Founder and head chef, Kemal Demirasal, has established a passionate regional following as well as wide-ranging international recognition for his unique commitment to exploring the origins of Anatolian cuisine and developing dynamic contemporary dining experiences.

Flint’s Istanbul-based Turkish office has worked with Alancha since September 2014, providing a multi-channel public relations service that comprises local, regional and international media management, digital and social media marketing, audience engagement and brand management.

Flint’s remit included the planning and management of a programme of press trips securing the participation of leading industry influencers, food writers and restaurant critics from around the world. Meaningful, high-value and brand-positive press coverage was secured in 188 distinct media outlets across 12 countries, delivering over 19 million Opportunities To View.

Drawing on Flint’s detailed knowledge of Turkey’s local and regional media, 38 national newspaper features, 75 magazine articles and 47 digital stories were secured in outlets including Hürriyet, Milliyet, Vogue, Alem, Gourmet & Styling and GQ. Working in close collaboration with Flint’s international offices and regional associates, international coverage was secured in The Financial Times, Robb Report, Wallpaper*, Departures, Travel + Leisure, The Daily Telegraph, Metro and the London Evening Standard.

Targeted brand development activity directed by Flint delivered valuable profile-raising opportunities around Kemal Demirasal’s participation at international gastronomy events including Sani Gourmet 2015, Horeco and Al Meni, securing Alancha’s first ever inclusion in the The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, and in December 2015 Alancha was nominated by Wallpaper* magazine as one of the Best Designed New Restaurants.
